How to Remove Butter Stains from Carpet
Butter and margarine stains are a carpet nightmare. If not treated carefully the greasy liquids may seep deep into the fibres and leave an unsightly stain on your carpet.
Here’s a simple 3 step guide on how to remove butter stains from carpet:
- The first step is to scrape the worst of the butter off the carpet surface (a spoon, fork or other kitchen utensil should work well here). Gently lift off the butter to stop it being driven into the fibres.
- Once you have removed the worst, apply some talcum powder, rice, salt or other absorbent material to soak up the rest of stain.
- Once it’s had a chance to soak up, use a cloth or rag to pick up the left overs and clean the stain away.
